Rangiroa

With it's beautiful turquoise waters and coral reefs, Rangiroa is one of the most breathtaking sights from the air. Rangiroa's atoll is the second largest in the whole world and gives the island the appearance of a white, pearl necklace surrounding the island. The island of Rangiroa has over 240 small islets which vary in elevation from one to three feet high and circle the island for more than one hundred miles, creating a wonderfully deep and sparkling lagoon for you to enjoy.
The main villages here are Tiputa and Avatoru, and can offer you the best in native traditions, shopping, and relaxation. Some of the activities you can enjoy while on Rangiroa are:

Getting To and Around Rangiroa
Air Tahiti has several direct flights from some of the other major islands here in French Polynesia, so you can always find your way here to Rangiroa. Our airport is very near the main resort areas, so it won't take you long to find your way to the resort or to the airport when you finally have to head home. While there is not much public transportation here on Rangiroa, you can find plenty of open air cars, bicycles, or scooters which can be rented for your daily explorations of the island and beaches. You can also rent boats, canoes, or charter a yacht all from your hotel or resort's reservation desk.

Restaurants
The restaurants here boast a wonderfully romantic taste of the islands due to the fact that the island is so secluded and peaceful. From the open air restaurants at the hotels that offer wonderful dance and music, you can also find some smaller restaurants scattered around that will offer other tastes of the islands as well. There are always those smaller snack shops and roulottes to grab a quick bite while you are out exploring our beautiful island.
If you are looking for places to eat and do not want to eat in your resort, then there are many other restaurants you can eat at. Chez Béatrice offers you excellent Chinese cuisine if you are in the mood for something besides Polynesian cuisine. If you would prefer to eat local food, then try Chez Cecile. Here you will always find fresh fish and lobster for you distinct palate. Maybe you would prefer to enjoy the local atmosphere while you are dining. The Raira Lagoon will give you just that along with a delicious menu. For lunch they offer only hamburgers and sandwiches.
Hotels and Lodging on Rangiroa

The Kia Ora Village is located near the Tiputa pass of Rangiroa. Here you will not only find comfortable bungalows, but this exotic setting looks like something out of your dreams and it serves typical island cuisine. You have your choice of six different bungalows. They are the garden bungalow, garden suite, beach bungalow with Jacuzzi, beach suite, deluxe beach bungalow with pool, and an over water bungalow. Children under 12 stay free with their parents. You will enjoy amenities like unlimited direct access to the lagoon and a private Jacuzzi.
The Kia Ora Sauvage is the sister to the Kia Ora Village and is located on the far side of the Rangiroa lagoon and offers five A-frame bungalows. All the bungalows are beach bungalows and children under 12 stay free with their parents. For child safety, children under 4 are not allowed to stay at this resort.
Located on the banks of the lagoon, Novotel Rangiroa Beach Resort is situated in a large coconut plantation. This resort has a reception area, restaurant, bar, shop, and 38 bungalows. Children under 15 stay free with their parents and children under 3 eat free. With all of the amenities and activities that are offered, you will more than enjoy your stay here.
