Moorea

Only ten minutes from the main island of Tahiti, Moorea is a wonderful place to spend a few days. With their wonderful white sand beaches to their top notch resorts, Moorea holds something for everyone. On Moorea, you can swim in the Opunohu Bay as well as Cook's Bay, while the majestic mountains keep watch over you. Point Belvedere is also on Moorea, so you can enjoy the island's cuisine, views, and fun, all from this mountain top point. Make sure that you don't miss the pineapple distillery on Moorea as well, it is an aromatic site to visit! To get to all of these great destinations, and to just explore the island, you can rent a car to drive yourself around at your own pace!

Getting Here and Around the Island

Since Moorea is close to Tahiti, it is very easy to reach by ferry, plane, or boat. There is an airport which has daily flights between the islands that usually only take about ten minutes. Or you can take the ferry across to the main island of Tahiti. Le Truck runs here as well, or you can catch a taxi if you are just heading across the island for a quick trip. You can also rent a car if you prefer to go out on your own. Boats are also available for rent, with or without a skipper! Or, for more luxurious trips, you can charter a yacht to transport you here and there around the island or to other islands.
